1.-3.10.2021 – Pool of Invention Festival

Pool of Invention Festival 2021

In October 2021 a selection of the Pool of Invention artists will come back to the Haidhäusl in Haidmühle in the Bavarian Forest! Plans will be made, music will be brewed and the foundations for the next programs will be laid! At the end of the week, the results of the creative workshop will be presented in innovative concert formats.

A special emphasis this year is on (corona-resistant) outdoor concerts formats. The focus is on the border region Bavarian Forest/Bohemian Forest. One format is dedicated to so-called "forest domes," an acoustic phenomenon that can often be observed in the dense spruce forests with their long trunks: Acoustics like in a church, and yet surrounded by nature. Another format is dedicated to the submerged villages of this region. In collaboration with national park guides and musicians from both sides of the country, who bring the audience closer to the history and nature, musicians & audience walk together in the footsteps of history (longer distances are covered by bus).

Why?

Why are we hosting a festival, why now? Our team values art and having the freedom to create together, especially in times of 'social distancing'. The following statement reflect our core beliefs:

  • Art contributes to the quality of life.
  • Internationality starts regionally.
  • Transculturality means to appreciate the "own" and the "foreign".
  • We believe in experiencing art, culture and history together; across borders, layers and tastes.
